The NFL fined New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman $26,739 on Saturday for an unnecessary roughness penalty he received in Monday night’s 25-6 win against the Buffalo Bills, according to a report from NFL Network.

Edelman was flagged for unnecessary roughness after calling for a fair catch and then hitting the Bills’ Lafayette Pitts in the face mask.

Edelman has been going easy this week in practice with an ankle injury and is listed as questionable for Week 9.

The Patriots host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night for an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.
