Tennessee Volunteers Vs. Auburn Tigers

Auburn has been a very good team all season, yet they are getting no respect because let’s face it, their schedule has been weak.

A win over Tennessee would change that perception in a heartbeat.

When they meet on Saturday afternoon, the Tigers want to show they belong, but they might get embarrassed if they don’t perform their best. Auburn has the fourth best record in the SEC, and they are not inside the Top-25 ranking.

They have played against five ranked teams this season and posted a 1-4 record in those games. The Tigers only beat Washington who was ranked 25th when the season started. Right now the Huskies are out of the Top-25.

The Tigers are on a three-game winning ride and have also won five of their last six games. None of their wins were against ranked teams. During this winning span, they faced Kentucky as only ranked squad and lost by 27 points. Tennessee might be a similar challenge than Kentucky.

The Volunteers were the highest-ranked team in the nation not so long ago. In fact, they just beat the Wildcats by 19 points difference; yes, the same team who recently smacked Auburn. The Volunteers are the real deal.

They are on a three-game winning streak, and their last two victories over Kentucky and Mississippi State were by more than 15 points each. Of course, the Volunteers covered the spread both times ending a five-game skid without covering.

Tennessee has several players you are unlikely to have heard before. Unless College Basketball runs in your blood, I won’t blame you if you haven’t heard about Admiral Schofield and Jordan Bone. Both are silent killers for the Volunteers.

They join playmaker Grant Williams every night to rack up wins. A team like Auburn doesn’t have these types of players, and that’s the reason they don’t get any respect when it comes to facing top opponents.

It’s easy to see Tennessee is such a better program and the right side on this game. How comfortable are you willing to be by betting the Volunteers on the road? I would say I would give them a 15 point margin and still be relaxed with picking them to win and cover. What’s the play? Tennessee.
