The Colorado Avalanche is chasing a wildcard spot in the Western Conference, and the Dallas Stars are one of the teams they are aiming to knockoff.

The current wildcard race in the West is set to have a fabulous end of the regular season. Seven teams are trying to get last two spots in the playoffs, and two of them will go head-to-head on Thursday.

Dallas is currently with 73 points and in a position to earn one of the last wildcard seed.

The Stars have done it in different ways as well. They scored four goals on each of the recent wins against the Chicago Blackhawks (4-3), Los Angeles (4-3), and St. Louis Blues (4-1). But they also took down the New York Rangers (1-0) in a close game in their most recent outing.

The Stars at home have been a stable wager this season.

They are not as good when playing on the road. Colorado is up and down over the last few weeks, but they are very much in the wildcard race.

They met for the last time in December, as Colorado won 6-4 at home.

Because the Avalanche has won the last few meetings, the oddsmakers will give the home team more favorable odds than usual.
